Travel
times, location, season, time of week and vehicle
size are elements that determine the prices of
limousine rentals. For example the average rate
for a smaller 3 passenger luxury sedan is $35-$60/hr
while a Stretch SUV (Excursions, Hummers, etc.)
is $100-$300/hr.
Plus
you’ll need to include
gratuity in your rental cost. Average gratuity
rates are 15-20% of
the total fare. For example a $500 rental bill
has an additional $75-$100 gratuity charge.
Expect
to rent a limo for at least 3 hours. Unfortunately
it is not feasible for most limousine companies
to
book a vehicle for 1 or 2 hours. Minimum bookings
can increase to 5, 6, or even 8 hours in times
of high demand like weddings and proms.
Waiting
periods are also part of your rental time. Limos
that are waiting for customers,
even for 2-3
hours, cannot be used in other locations. Some
companies have discounted hourly rates
for waiting times. If
your waiting time is more than 4 hours, your
rental fee may only include your destination
and back without
a waiting time charge.
In general, rental rates depend on supply and demand.
The best time to find deals is during times of low
demand. Otherwise deals are rare in times of high
demand.
